Using the studio
These terms apply to Darbuka Studio at darbukastudio.com. Contact the studio operator at info@darbukastudio.com for service, legal or business-identity enquiries. Read these terms before creating an account or subscribing. Our Privacy policy explains personal information handling.
Lessons 1–3 are available as a guest. Lessons 4–10 require a verified account. Lessons 11–50 require an active trial, subscription or access granted by the studio. Access is for your personal learning; keep your account credentials private. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to review these terms and authorise any subscription.
Subscriptions and billing
The monthly plan is AUD $7.99. Eligible new subscribers receive 7 days free after completing Stripe Checkout with a payment method, then the plan automatically renews monthly until cancelled. One trial is available per account. The final amount, applicable tax and renewal details are shown before confirmation in checkout. See Subscriptions, cancellation & refunds for how to cancel and request help.
Learning and microphone feedback
The studio offers educational practice tools, not accredited qualifications or a promise of mastery. Scores estimate rhythm timing and tempo using your device; noise, equipment and latency can affect them. They do not certify hand technique, tone or musical expression. Microphone use is optional. Practise comfortably, take breaks and keep listening volume safe.
Fair use and content
Use the service lawfully. Do not share paid access, bypass access controls, disrupt the service or commercially redistribute our lesson arrangements, recordings, artwork or software without permission. Third-party materials retain their own licences and attribution. These terms do not remove rights granted by those licences or by law.
Service changes and account restrictions
We may maintain or improve the service, and may restrict accounts where reasonably necessary to address misuse, fraud or security risks. Where practical, we will explain the issue and provide a way to contact us. Account suspension does not itself stop subscription billing: contact us promptly for billing assistance. If we cannot supply a paid service, your consumer rights still apply. We will notify affected subscribers in advance of a material price or subscription change so they can decide whether to continue; changes do not retrospectively alter a paid period.
Accounts and deletion
You can change your password and manage billing in My account. To prevent further charges, cancel your subscription first. Self-service deletion becomes available when the subscription has ended. It removes saved progress and sign-in credentials; some payment or legally required records may remain. Contact us if you need assistance or want to exercise privacy rights.
Australian consumer rights and disputes
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law. This includes remedies where services are not supplied with due care and skill or do not meet applicable guarantees. We do not impose a blanket “no refunds” rule. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. You may also seek help from your state or territory consumer affairs agency or pursue remedies available by law. These terms operate subject to applicable Australian law and any mandatory protections that apply to you.
Updates
The date below identifies this version. Material changes will be brought to affected users’ attention before taking effect where practical. Changes do not remove accrued rights.
